Pella Tulip Time Gospel Outreach 2024

Overview

Come learn to share the gospel with others through this unique event. You will receive clear, practical teaching from our speakers, Mark Spence, Tony Ramsek, and Jon Neifert on evangelism and apologetics. Learn to articulate the good news of the gospel simply and effectively. Learn to use Creation Evangelism to show the gospel through God’s creation. You will hear some background of the amazing Christian history of Pella as its founders fled Holland under religious persecution.

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:20-23

You will have the opportunity to distribute tracts, engage in one-on-one conversations about Christ and speak about what He has accomplished on the cross. Our outreach and witnessing time will be led by experienced team leaders and coaches to help you learn and grow as you apply your learning. You will have time to practice together, ask questions, receive feedback and to apply what you learn. There are 2 times daily to distribute gospel tracts before each parade, and plenty of time to share the gospel and enjoy the festival.

This coincides with the annual Pella Tulip Time Festival celebrating the settlers’ Dutch heritage, the tulips, and the Christian history of the founders of Pella, IA.

The event is free, but we suggest a donation of $25 per person, or $50 per family to help cover the cost of putting on this event. Simply Donate after registration or when you arrive.

Volunteers are responsible for their own food, lodging, and parking. You are encouraged to fellowship and share your experience with your team members over a meal during the festival. There are plenty of options available.

9:15 am - 10:15 am What Is It? the Case For Pro-Life Mark Spence
Abortion is one of the most hotly debated and complex topics in the world. This lecture explores how science, philosophy, and theology all support the value of the preborn from the moment of fertilization. Mark will, also, explore how to respond to the most common objections pro-life proponents face.
10:30 am - 11:30 am The Bankruptcy of Atheism Mark Spence
In Romans 1, the Bible clearly teaches us God has revealed Himself to everyone. Psalm 14:1 states, “The fool has said in his heart there is no God”. In this fast-paced teaching, Mark starts off by debunking the notion that atheists exist. Secondly, Mark discusses the ‘heart of the atheist’ with their foolish self-refuting claims such as, “There is no such thing as truth.” and “Nobody’s right”. Next, Mark answers the most common questions a skeptic will bring up; such as, “If God is loving why is there evil and suffering in the world?” and “You can’t trust the Bible because it was written by men and everyone knows men make mistakes.” Finally, Mark discusses the greatest need of a skeptic which is their need to get born again.
