Iowa State Fair Gospel Outreach 2024

Overview

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Gospel Booth at the Iowa State Fair Gospel Outreach. This incredible opportunity to share the gospel with over one million guests during the fair dates of August 8-18, 2024 in Des Moines, IA., will be a huge blessing to all involved. We maintain a focus on the gospel and on using Creation Evangelism as seen in many of the Answers in Genesis materials. Please visit our event page to see all the things that you will experience.

August 7 - 18, 2024
August 7
5:00 pm Parade
Meet at 6th and Grand before the parade begins for prayer and tract distribution. Tracts provided.
August 8-18
9:00 am - 12:00 Opening + Shift 1
Give out resources, encourage one-on-one conversation, and answer questions. Opportunities to give Creation Evangelism fake-tattoos for kids. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for 2 back-to-back shifts. First shift is encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to stock the tables with materials, and to turn on TV & trains before the building is open to the public.
12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Shift 2
Give out resources, encourage one-on-one conversation, and answer questions. Opportunities to give Creation Evangelism fake-tattoos for kids. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for 2 back-to-back shifts.
3:00 pm - 6:00 pm Shift 3
Give out resources, encourage one-on-one conversation, and answer questions. Opportunities to give Creation Evangelism fake-tattoos for kids. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for 2 back-to-back shifts. Every Friday - Sunday afternoon the Testify Campers join during this timeframe, fewer volunteers are needed during this time.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Shift 4 + Closing
Give out resources, encourage one-on-one conversation, and answer questions. Opportunities to give Creation Evangelism fake-tattoos for kids. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for 2 back-to-back shifts. If you are able, please stay an extra 10 minutes to straighten out the table and materials, clean up any trash, and close in prayer.

Jon Neifert 2022 Photo
Jon Neifert (Tulip Gospel Outreach)

Jon Neifert is the founder of Tulip Gospel Outreach and finds great joy in sharing the gospel message and telling others of the work of Christ. Jon has has attended and served as a team leader for the Living Waters Ambassador’s Academy and has experience sharing the gospel and coordinating outreach events since 2017.

Jon, his wife, and two sons enjoy technology, outdoors, hiking and wildlife, and raising animals on their acreage near Pella, IA. Jon has a degree in Applied Computer Science form William Penn University. He grew up as a pastors kid in the Friends church. He currently attends and serves his local church, Tracy Christian Reformed Church.
